In all probability you may be wondering why it is necessary to uninstall a program that is as useful as an AMD Graphics driver. Its benefits notwithstanding; there are certain situations in which you have to uninstall the program or software. The first is, if the first installation did not go well and there are errors that cannot be corrected within the system. The second is, if you found a poor quality copy from a malicious website that came with other malware. Thirdly, it could be that you want to bring in an entirely new version and want to get rid of the old one. In any case, it is not just a matter of deleting the relevant program. You have to go through the same procedures that you used during the installation, but in reverse. There are no shortcuts or else you could end up creating even more errors.
The correct process for uninstalling
Begin by moving the cursor to the bottom left of your desktop. The same can be done for a metro user interface or UI. This will give you a start box. You should then right click on the screen so as to open your context. Select the option for the control panel. There will be an option to deal with the programs and features. You should then drill down to the tab for programs. You will be given a list of programs. Look for the AMD Graphics driver and then right click on it. This will bring up yet another dropdown menu with an option to uninstall the program. You will be asked whether you are sure that you want to uninstall the program with all its related files. If you are certain then click yes and ok. The uninstall process will then start automatically. When it is complete the program will disappear from the list. You do not need restart the computer unless prompted to do so.
There are a few things that might happen along the way which you have to pay attention to. First of all, the Windows User Account Control or UAC will ask you whether you want to make changes to the system. Click yes and continue. This is regardless of whether the system knows or does not know the publisher of this particular program. When you are removing, there is an option to get rid of all the previous versions of the program. Select yes in order to clear the system completely. This will affect the audio drivers as well as the application components. It is unlikely that the uninstall process fails, unless you have some sort of malware on the system. In that case you need to do a sweep to clear out the malware.
A word of caution
The downside is that you may not get the right functionality from your system unless you install an alternative appropriate driver. That is why it is important not to leave your system without the right graphics drivers. It is anticipated that this uninstallation process is only for temporary purposes until you can find a great replacement.
